Hi There!  I am your Tour Coordinator.  I love this job!  I really enjoy talking with teachers and helping them create amazing tour experiences. My favorite aspect of the job is creating itineraries.  It’s like completing a jigsaw puzzle-working to fit all appointments and attractions into a smooth flowing, exciting travel plan.

My Tour Experience

I have worked in the student travel industry since 1991. Prior to becoming a Tour Coordinator, I was a Tour Director who traveled to Washington, DC with students for 5 years.

I have toured and worked in all our primary destinations: Washington, DC, New York City, and Boston.

Our side-trips as well: Williamsburg, Charlottesville, Gettysburg, the Amish Country, and Philadelphia.

I thoroughly enjoy all our destinations, and they seem to be constantly evolving with the addition of new and exciting attractions.

My Tour Philosphy

School Tours of America is the BEST travel company in the industry! Everyone on staff from the President and CEO, to the employees in our print shop, will do their utmost to make sure your trip is a success.

Managers have an “open door” policy and are receptive to input about Tour Director’s requests.

I work very hard to secure all requested appointments and customize your trip according to your wishes.

Students will see many historical, memorable attractions touching on a variety of interests that often lead students toward their future career path.

My Personal Background

I completed my bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology from the University of Houston after attending Texas A&M University for 3 years. I consider myself an Aggie. I taught 8th Grade Industrial Arts and Crafts courses for 9 years in Katy ISD. I have coordinated student tours since 1991 working for American Student Travel, WorldStrides, and School Tours of America.

I moved to the Hill Country of Texas from Houston in 2004. I LOVE it here! My house is located near Canyon Lake, the horseshoe on the Guadalupe River and the Devil’s Backbone.

I enjoy walking across Canyon Lake Dam, dance aerobics at the community rec center, and working out at Anytime Fitness. I also enjoy reading, watching movies, live music, and festivals. I have a Siamese cat named Isabel who was recently found and returned after being lost for three weeks.

I am a member of a great church in New Braunfels, Oakwood Baptist, where I am involved with many volunteer activities throughout the year. I work from a home office and often see deer, wild turkey, and roadrunners in my back yard.

I feel one of my greatest accomplishments was raising my two daughters as a single Mom. They both have Master’s degrees and are awesome mothers, wives, employees, and friends. My oldest daughter, Stephanie, lives in Alaska with her husband and my two grandsons. My youngest daughter, Amber, just moved to Show Low, AZ with her husband and my 3 ½ year old granddaughter.

My Final Note

I am so excited to be working with you to plan your school’s trip! I would love to know more about you.

We have designed a brief but very important survey that allows our staff to know your more generalized tour expectations.

While I will work diligently with you to customize your tour, this survey is very helpful in knowing where to start and addresses some important tour preferences.
